Jorene Stacy
Melvin
Mar 15, 1963 — Mar 21, 2025
JoRene Stacy Melvin (née JoRene Annette Stacy) was born on March 15, 1963, in Willits, CA, to Hurl "Toney" Stacy and Corrine Stacy (née Smith), both of whom preceded her in death. She passed away peacefully at her home in Bethany, OK, on March 21, 2025.
JoRene is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, David Melvin. They spent 11,515 days loving one another unconditionally. JoRene is also survived by her son, Anthony "Toney" Stacy, daughter-in-law, Kyrianna Stacy; her cherished grandchildren, Desmond Stacy and Charlee Stacy; her daughter, Lyndsay Conner (née Melvin), and son-in-law, Chris Conner; her beloved aunt, Katy Potter; and countless "bonus" children and grandchildren whose lives she touched in so many ways.
JoRene attended Central State University in Edmond, OK, before embarking on a successful career in telecommunications and sales. Throughout her professional life, she consistently rose to the top, earning numerous accolades for her dedication and excellence in customer service. Her kindness extended far beyond the workplace—she once saved a caller's life by contacting emergency services during a critical medical emergency, a testament to her unwavering compassion and quick thinking.
More than anything, JoRene cherished her role as a grandmother, affectionately known as "Nana," "Nana Jo," and "Coco." Time spent with her "grand-darlings" was her greatest joy, and the love between them was boundless.
JoRene was a pillar of strength, kindness, and unconditional love. She had a remarkable ability to see the best in people, even when they struggled to see it in themselves. Whether serving as an anchor in difficult times, a source of comfort, or offering the tough love needed to inspire change, she was always there for those who needed her most. She had a heart that knew no limits, taking in and uplifting those whom the world too often overlooked.
JoRene leaves behind a legacy of generosity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. She was an unstoppable force for good, and though she is no longer physically present, the love and kindness she spread will continue to ripple through the lives she touched.
Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be held from 12pm-8pm on Friday, March 28. A celebration of JoRene's life will be held on March 29, 2:30pm, at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel in Bethany, OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that acts of kindness be done in JoRene's memory, as she would have wanted nothing more than for love and generosity to continue in her honor.
