Obituary

Johnny Walker Sharp, born in Muldrow, Oklahoma on December 31, 1945, peacefully departed this life in Oklahoma City on January 30, 2024, at the age of 78, surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, grace, and unwavering strength.

Johnny was a devout Christian, husband, cherished father, beloved Pawpaw, and loyal friend. His gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

He worked for many years at Lee Way Motor Freight, retired from Putnam City Schools and owned a HVAC business. He was a trusted colleague and mentor, and devoted his life to charitable service to others, both in his church and the community.

Johnny is survived by his wife Linda of 57 years, whom he loved deeply; 4 children, daughter Debi Gilbert (Jim), sons Brien Sharp (Julie) and Steven Sharp (Paula) and daughter Ellen Rackley (Shane); 12 grandchildren, Andrew, Kelsey (Garret), Hunter (Katie), Jonah (Brittany), Jacob (Kiya), Rebecca (Lane), Anah, Alice, Mattie, Mollie, Naomi and Penny; 9 great-grandchildren, Weston, Wyatt, Rhett, Wrenly, Brylee, BraeLyn, Bryn, Blayke and Jazmine; 2 brothers, Paul Sharp Jr. and Kenny Sharp; and 1 sister, Mildred Marr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Minnie Sharp; one brother, Jim Sharp; and three sisters, Fannie Riggs, Nadine McGehee, and Anna Crow-Jones.

Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2024, 5:00PM - 7:00PM at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 North Asbury Avenue, Bethany, OK.

A funeral service will be held on February 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Calvary Church of the Nazarene, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.
