On Friday, September 14th, surrounded by his loving family, John R. Thomas of Oklahoma City stepped into the presence of his beloved Lord & Savior and heard the words, "Well done thy good & faithful servant." John was born in Eldorado, Ok. to Joseph and Jessie Thomas. He was preceded in death by his loving and deeply devoted wife of 70 years, Verene. An article detailing their "Love For A Lifetime" was published in the Edmond Sun. Following his military service in the United States Air Force, John attended and graduated from OSU with a degree in architecture. After graduation, he worked with several firms before he established, and retired from, John R. Thomas & Associates, a well-known and highly respected architectural firm in Oklahoma City. In retirement, he became an avid woodworker who especially loved woodturning. John is survived by a daughter, Brenda Boydstun, sons, Stan and Brad Thomas, and their spouses. Survivors also include his sister, Jessie Cox of Tulsa Oklahoma, 8 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
