John Stephen Sobczyk of Bethany, OK, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Born August 4, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late John and Julia Sobczyk. He is survived by his wife, Norma Sobczyk; two loving daughters, Terri Bivona and Christina Stenseth; three sons, David Hanson, Stephen Sobczyk and Christian Hanson; and 40 grandchildren. John graduated from Saint John's University and earned a Degree in Accounting. He retired as Chief Financial Officer of Jervis B. Webb in Farmington, MI. John enjoyed sports, especially football, as well as movies and spending time with his family. The visitation will be held at Mercer Adams Funeral Home, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK 73008 on January 6, 2014 from 11 AM to 7 PM. The family will have an informal gathering from 5 PM to 7 PM. The funeral service will be held at Saint Charles Borromeo on January 7, 2014 at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
