John Howard Sharp, 92, died May 6, 2019. He was born May 29, 1926 in OKC, OK to Gaines and Ethel (Wilson) Sharp. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served six years during WWII. John worked for 33 years at Tinker Air Force Base and retired as a Logistics Management Instructor. He received the Department of the Air Force Highest Award for Meritorious Civilian Service, recognizing him as one of the most knowledgeable and progressive logistics classroom instructors throughout the Command. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bethany. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alvena; son, Jerry; 2 brothers & 4 sisters. Survivors include his wife, Corene; son, John Jr. and wife, Jean of Veazie, ME; daughter-in-law, Paula, OKC; daughter, Sue Eccles and husband, Roger of Bethany; step-daughter, Jetta Ketner and husband, Lee of OKC; step-son, Gordon Patrick and wife, Shea of Franklin, TN; step-daughters, Kelly Kudelka of Guthrie, and Marci Patrick of OKC; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Sharp Bell (Jason), Toby Sharp (Sharon), Erin Eccles Williams (Marvin), Ryan Eccles (Lindy), and Alice Sharp and 12 great grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren, Justin Patrick, Joel Patrick, Elizabeth Molina, Bethany Kelton, Whitney Ferguson, Caleb Ketner, Michael Kudelka and Monica Kudelka, and 12 step-great grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Saturday, May 11, 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Bethany with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
