John R. Peckham, 98, went to be with his Lord on August 3, 2012, in Oklahoma City, OK. John was born on January 14, 1914, in Enid, OK, to John and Josephine (Slover) Peckham. He was a deacon and volunteer missionary to Mexico for over thirty years with Exchange Avenue Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as painter third class during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Winnie Mae and daughter, Mary Lynn Mayfield. He is survived by daughters, Joni M. Jones and Beverly A. Bridges; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Family visitation will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 from 6:00- 8:00pm at Mercer-Adams in Bethany. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:00am at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church with interment following at Enid Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Exchange Avenue Baptist.
