John J. Newton, 83, died December 19, 2013. He was born April 17, 1930 in Mansfield, Missouri to Martin and Jessie (Hensley) Newton. He married Loreta May Dickinson on March 26, 1952. A carpenter by trade, he loved to fish and play dominoes. Survivors include his wife, Loreta May Newton of the home; son, Larry David Newton of OKC; daughters, Karen K. Solf of OKC, Joy Mae Whitaker and husband Dennis of OKC; 5 grandchildren, Ladonna Solf, Linda Solf, Jason Whitaker, John T. Newton and Laura Newton; and numerous relatives, friends, and fishing buddies. Viewing will be Thursday, 10am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams.
