John Lewis Sanders, 50 years of age, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, from complications due to head trauma. John was born March 11, 1962, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Janet Mickle Sanders and Ray Dean Sanders. What a joy he brought to their lives. He was the ornery little brother to big sister, Cindy. John loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved sports, motorcycles, and fast cars. He learned to water ski at the age of two; loved the lake and camping. John attended school at Lake Park Elementary, Western Oaks Junior High, and graduated from Putnam City West High School. He attended college at Oklahoma State University. He worked with his father in the construction industry and then began his 15 year career at Hobby Lobby in the Construction Department. He later worked for Patterson Building Maintenance Company. John was preceded in death by grandparents, Ed and Velma Mickle and Raymond Sanders. He is survived by his parents, Ray and Janet Sanders, of Bethany, Oklahoma; sister, Cindy Herhold and husband Mark, of Arlington, Texas; nephews, Tony Herhold, of Houston, Texas, and Travis Herhold of Arlington, Texas; and grandmother, Ethel Lee Sanders, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A celebration of John's wonderful life will be held Monday, May 21, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, Bethany, Oklahoma. There will be visitation Sunday, May 20, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral service. The family is so thankful for the wonderful 50 years of John's life.
