Obituary

John Phillip Hannah, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Taylor Park, CO, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025. A celebration of his life is planned for this summer, with the exact date to be announced, at his Grizzly Peak Ranch in Taylor Park, Colorado.

John was born on March 3, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Trustie Phillips Hannah and Floyd C. Hannah. He had a profound love for his family and friends, as well as a passion for coaching, exploring, working on the ranch, and his cherished 1979 Ford Bronco. A natural leader, John made a lasting impact on the youth he coached in softball and basketball at the Satellite Athletic Association, where he served as a Board Member for many years. With a curious mind and a deep appreciation for the natural world, John was an active member of the Oklahoma City Astronomy Club and eagerly looked forward to their annual Okie-Tex Star Party.

John earned both his undergraduate degree and his MBA from Oklahoma City University. He enjoyed a successful career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company/AT&T, retiring as an Internal Auditor.

John and his wife, Ann, were members of New Hope United Methodist Church. A man of deep faith, we know he will be guided by the Lord on his next journey.

John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann (Keller) Hannah; his daughters and their husbands, Lora and Jeff Schmillen, and Sandy and Bruce Meyer; his grandsons and their spouses, Jake and Ka'ena Meyer, and Justin Meyer and Hannah Dorando; as well as his two cherished great-grandchildren, Kili Meyer and Shiloh Meyer. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Sam Knoten; his brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Lynn Hannah; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Terry and Jean Keller, and Mike and Jodi Keller. Additionally, John leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews, along with extended family, many close friends who he considered family, and the ball players from the teams he coached.

When you look at the night sky filled with stars, take a moment to say hello to John. There's no doubt he is soaring through the Universe among the stars, planets, and black holes, all while planning his next adventure and watching over us!

John's family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to our extended family, friends, Iris Memory Care and Good Shepherd Hospice. Your unwavering support and compassionate care for John brought comfort and peace to our family.
