John Gianfilippo, Jr. was born in Oklahoma City on June 6, 1926 to John and Marietta Gianfilippo. He died on Feb. 14, 2011 at Norman Veterans Center. He graduated from Central High School in 1944. John served two years in the Army Air Corps and 18 months in the Navy Reserves. He retired from Tinker Field after 30 years of service. He married Lorene Nellie Howerton on Oct. 21, 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marietta, and brother, Sam. He is survived by his brother, Dominic and wife Evelyn; 2 step-grandchildren; 2 nephews; 4 nieces; and many grand-nephews and grand-nieces. Prayer service will be Thursday at 7:00pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Fri., Feb. 18, 11:00am at Resurrection Chapel with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
