Garland Joe Nance, 88, died December 16, 2018. He was born June 29, 1930 in Stigler, OK to Odie and Nellie (Maddix) Nance. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Garland retired as Assistant Fire Chief for the City of Bethany and also worked as a grading contractor, leveling house sites. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Nance, Reba Kroeker and husband Roy; brother, Odie Allen Nance; sisters-in-law, Patty Nance and Paula Nance; grandchildren, Travis (Kasey) Little, Summer (Clayton) Eckert, Matt (Jessica) Lesney, Skyler Lesney, Dustin Gates; 6 great-grandchildren, Easton and Wyatt Little, Destiny Christie, Taylaer, Jackson and Mayson Lesney; and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Thursday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Friday, December 21, 10:00am at First Baptist Church of Bethany with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
