Joan Wilkerson was born November 4, 1926 in Sebastian County, AR and died January 9, 2013 in Bethany, OK. Retired from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, she dedicated her time to her artwork. She was a member of the Oklahoma Water Media Association, a charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and an active member of Western Oklahoma Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Wilkerson and daughter, Janien. She is survived by son, Robert and his wife, Wendy; grandsons, Joshua and Matthew; future granddaughter-in-law, Emily Sadler; and extended family and a host of friends. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am to 9pm, with the family present from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be held Monday, January 14, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Joan asked that donations be made to the Western Oaks Christian Church (WOCC) Christian Women's Fellowship.
