Joan Cavell Craft Cotton, age 83, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016. She was born to Lemuel E. and Juanita Hughes Craft, February, 5, 1933, in Healdton, OK, and was raised in the Meeker, OK area. Joan graduated from Meeker H.S. in 1951, and attended Oklahoma Baptist University until marrying the love of her life, George W. Cotton, February 1, 1953. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage until his death in 2011. A lifelong Baptist, Joan was devoted to her Lord and family. Throughout her homemaking years, she was an Avon Representative, amassing a loyal clientele, and garnering many awards including "The Presidents Club," for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George; her parents and grandparents, William and Emma Wooten Hughes and Finis and Nettie Witherspoon Craft; brother-in-law G.D. "Mac" Maguire, and many other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by sons, Craig and wife, Vickie and Randy of OKC; sister-in-law, Carol Maguire, Meeker, OK; Granddaughters and husbands, Ryan and Shannon Keever, OKC; Mike and Erin Stoops, Norman, OK; Brad and Caitlin Kellam, OKC; great-grandchildren, Ozzy Ledesma and Vivienne Keever; cousins, Robert and Marsha Rothermel, Grandbury, TX and other extended family. Graveside service 11:00 AM, July 5, 2016 at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, OKC. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the kind and dedicated staffs of Mercy Rehabilitation, Bellevue Skilled Nursing and Centennial Hospice for their professional and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimers Association of Oklahoma, is appreciated.
