Joan Jo Boggs, 81, died May 11, 2010. She was born August 31, 1928 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jessell and Mamie (Russell) Bonds. She married Jim Boggs, May 31, 1948, in Allen, Oklahoma. She earned her Masters Degree at OU and was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority for 20 years. She worked as a Librarian at Rollingwood Elementary in the Putnam City School District. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister, and son-in-law. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim; daughter Vicki Wemhaner, OKC; son James F. Boggs and his wife Laura of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren Sharmelle Wickman and husband Heath of Keller, TX, Micheal Goodson of Longview, TX, Josh Boggs of Lafayette, LA; and great-grandchildren Ashlee Duren and Nathan Wickman, both of Keller, TX. Viewing will be Friday, 9am-9pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Saturday, May 15, 11:30 a.m. at Clark United Methodist Church with interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Donations may be made to ASPCA.
