Jimmy L Banther, age 91, from Warr Acres went home to his Lord and Savior on October 23, 2021 surrounded by family. Jim was born on July 23, 1930 to Arlene and Lewis Banther at Omega, OK. Jim had 3 brothers: Albert, Robert, and Paul. Jim married Zoma Canterberry on November 11, 1955, in Warr Acres. Jim graduated high school from Kingfisher, OK. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy with top security clearance. Jim was a US Postal Service employee from 1955 until his retirement in 1986, where he received many awards. Jim enjoyed family gatherings and hearing family news from both sides. Jim enjoyed music, especially western and old church singing. Zomas family loved Jim like a brother. Her siblings included Norma Treadaway (deceased), Murl Canterberry, Lavena Whiteley, Glenna Penick, and Richard Canterberry. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Al and Rob, Jim is survived by his wife, Zoma, of 66 years; brother, Paul; special nieces, Debra and husband Tommy Byers and Marsha and husband Steve Kratky; and special nephew, Richard Banther. He is also survived by many more nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Viewing will be Tuesday, October 26, 8:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. .
