Obituary

December 21, 1937-February 23, 2015 OKLAHOMA CITY Jim E. Hathcock passed away peacefully February 23, 2015. He was a longtime resident of Oklahoma. He resided in Weatherford the past 45 years, and had relocated to the Oklahoma City area 2 years ago to be closer to his family. Early in his career, he was a journeyman electrician and certified welder. In 1968, Jim relocated his family to Weatherford to do work on the 3M Plant. With the oil boom in full force, Jim opened Jim's Custom Welding, an oilfield welding service. He serviced numerous oil companies in Oklahoma for almost 30 years before retiring. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he spent all of his extra time doing just that. The only thing he loved more than hunting and fishing was watching Wheel of Fortune with his beloved dog Sadie, a Pit Bull rescue. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Jim is survived by 4 children, Julie Kudron of Piedmont, OK, Zeke Hathcock of Atlanta, GA, Jimmy Hathcock of Oklahoma City, Jana Hathcock of Broomfield, CO; 2 grandchildren, Colt Kudron of Oklahoma City and Harper Hathcock of Atlanta, GA; 1 great grandchild, Daxton Kudron of Oklahoma City; and his brother, Tom Hathcock of Colorado Springs. The family would like to thank the staff of Baptist Village Communities for the loving care given to Jim over the past few months. A private service will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home in Bethany, OK Wednesday, February 25, 2015.
