Obituary

Jill was the youngest of 4 children, adopted at the age of 6 weeks. Jill was born a water-baby; water was her soothing friend. At age 2 1/2, during a swim class, she was told to jump into the pool and her mother would catch her. Her response was, "Don't touch me." She jumped, went under water kicking her feet, pushed her hands down, came up for air, and went right back underwater. And so began a life of "I can do it!" which resulted in many positive decisions and many trips to the ER, including 8 trips from ages 2 to 4. Jill had natural athletic ability and a competitive spirit. She enjoyed soccer, softball and volleyball. Jill was on a swim team and the high school badminton team. Jill was hungry for knowledge with a desire to learn. Her work ethic allowed her to excel. She earned many certificates. In 11th grade, she earned a veterinarian technician certificate. As an adult, she earned her flight attendant certificate, and was currently studying for a realtor license. In December ,1992, she married Ronnie Dickerson and proceeded to have three children, Jillisa, Rebecca and Ronnie, Jr. Jill had an adventurous spirit, a deep capacity to love, a quirky personality and, most importantly, she loved experiencing life. Her "I can do it" mentality made it possible for her to accomplish everything she set her heart on. Jill purchased her first home in 2021 which she shared with her dog, Under. Jill took pride in the garden she grew and shared the fruits (and vegetables) of her labor. In 2021, Jill enjoyed a celebration with her family at Estes Park and, last October, she danced at her niece's wedding. Jill loved to surprise her loved ones by flying in unannounced on multiple occasions. She loved her 3 children, Jillisa, Rebecca, and Ronnie. With all the love she had to give she was extremely proud of them and of each of their achievements. Viewing will be Sunday, January 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
