Jesse Dale Bird Jr. went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2017. He was born December 20, 1931 in Eldorado Oklahoma to Jesse Dale Bird and Eudean Dial Bird. He was preceded in death by both parents, sister Dorothy Fidler and brother Robert Bird. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Mary Kastner Bird, son Karl Nolan Bird and wife Kira of Wasilla Alaska and daughter Ann Dell Yeakley and husband Brad of Bethany Oklahoma. Jesse was especially proud of his ten Grandchildren, Ansel Bird and wife Jessica, Daniel Bird and wife Jenna, Luke Bird, Mariah Bird, Noah Bird, Nona Bird, Abby Bird, Anna Bird, Laura Yeakley and Shannon Yeakley. He served in the Army, attended Oklahoma University and graduated with a business degree from Oklahoma City University. He was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi and Gideon's International. He was a longtime employee of the Oklahoma Tax Commission-Motor Vehicle Division working as a system analyst for more than 30 years. He was a faithful member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Missouri Synod since 1963. Services will be Thursday May 18, 10:00am at Lutheran Church of Our Savior (6501 NW 23rd street, Bethany) with graveside services following at Rose Hill. The family will be hosting visitation from 7:00-9:00pm at Mercer Adams Funeral home, Wednesday, May 17.
