Jerry E. Pebley, 77, passed away suddenly at his home, September 15, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 4, 1937 in Santa Ana, CA to Lucious and Dorothy Ellen (Loughmiller) Pebley. He grew up on a farm near Hydro, Oklahoma, attending school at Hydro grades 1 through 9 and moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma, attending grades 10th through 12th. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Infantry Division, 1954 through 1957. Jerry met and married his wife in Clinton, Oklahoma in 1958. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1957 and went to work for Jerry Cravens Ford which soon became Dub Richardson Ford. He was employed there for nearly 42 years, working in the parts department and becoming the parts manager in 1981. His successful career also included two years at Paul's Ford in Kansas City, Missouri as parts manager. He later went to work at Royal Automotive Motorcraft warehouse as inventory control manager for two years. After retiring, he and his wife started delivering cars for American Fidelity Assurance Company, traveling throughout the United States. They vacationed to Europe and enjoyed seven cruises together. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lucious and Dorothy Pebley of Weatherford, OK; one brother, Lucious Alvin (Buster) Pebley and his wife Dottie Lou of Weatherford, OK; two sisters, Louise Hannah and her husband Bill of Fontana, CA, and Laverne Bertles and her husband Joseph of Silver Springs, NV. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Glenna, of the home in Bethany, OK; one daughter, Jerrianna Ellis and her husband Donnie of Yukon, OK; two sisters, Margaret Ellen Pebley and Alta Rae Robinson of Weatherford, OK; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerry became a Christian in 1948, was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church in Weatherford, OK. He currently was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Bethany, OK. Jerry loved God, family, friends and Ford cars. Viewing will be Friday, 8am-9pm, with family present from 4-6pm at Mercer-Adams, Bethany, OK. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, September 20 at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
