Obituary

Jerry Lee Hull was born March 4, 1936 and passed into the arms of Christ on February 13, 2015. He was the youngest of four children born to James and Marie Hull. He was born in Ottumwa, Iowa and lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and, finally, in Bethany, Oklahoma since 1954. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in business from Oklahoma City University. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, James Hull and Marie Nakvinda, his infant sister, Nancy, and his wives, Juan and Denith. He is survived by his brother, Larry Hull of Yukon; and his sister, Delores Peterson of Oklahoma City; his two daughters, Manina Kline and her three children, Sonja, Jarrod, and Afton; Cheryl Eslinger and her husband David and her two sons, Byron and Bryce of Tulsa, OK; and his son, Kirk Hull and his wife, Stacey and his two children, Marlowe and Maclain of Mansfield, Texas. He is survived by four great-grandchildren, LeeAnn, Adriana, Lukas, and Austin and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. While attending Bethany Peniel College, Jerry married Juan Casey in 1956 and they had three children, Manina, Cheryl, and Kirk. They were happily married until Juan passed away in 1961. In 1962, Jerry married Denith Peck and she brought joy and laughter back into his life. She lovingly raised his children and brought much joy to his life for 52 years. Jerry diligently provided for his family. Early in his career he started a roofing company. He was one of the first employees at Western Electric in Oklahoma City and he worked there for 31 years, retiring as a section chief. He also owned and operated Jerry's Map Service for 20 years. Jerry was a very devout Christian. He loved his Lord and the church. He faithfully served his church as a Sunday school teacher, youth director, song leader (30 years), and by maintaining the church lawn. For many years he used his vehicles to transport people to and from services. He was also a willing cohort in the many parties Denith hosted. He was a church board member and a College Board member for several years. He also made two overseas mission trips. He faithfully taught his children that the Lord deserved their best. He made sure that they knew how to speak and sing properly in public and at church from an early age. It was also very important that his children were friendly to all. He loved to travel and was excited to have gone to each of the 50 states. He loved sports of all kinds and was a big OU and Thunder fan. He taught his children and grandchildren how to hunt and fish and took them on camping and sightseeing trips. In later life, when numerous strokes took away many of his abilities, he still loved to lead the "walkers" at the Adult Daily Living Center and he was known there as the man who fasted for his wife's health.
