Jerald "Jerry" Clyde Adams, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Bethany on October 12, 2024. He was born January 6, 1934 in Cambria, IL. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy and loved sharing his war stories from Japan. In 1952, Jerry married the love of his life, Peggy Steele, and they had two children, Jerry Lynn and JoAnn. After his time in the Navy, he became an electrical contractor and started his own business, Adams Electric Company, in 1969. He ran the business with his beloved wife, Peggy, by his side the entire time. Jerry loved writing poetry and building things as well as supporting his son, Jerry Lynn and his wife and kids in their mission work.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy; son, Jerry Lynn Adams; sister, Delores French; and brother, Jim L. Adams. He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn (John) Hall; daughter-in-law, Connie Adams; grandchildren, Amanda (Derek) Hall and their children, Emily and Eli; Aaron (Jennifer) Ratliff and their daughter, Makenzie; Kristen Adams, Jason Adams, Ryan (Jenna) Adams and their children, Zoey and Hayden; and Kaitlyn Adams.

Jerry was known for always lending a hand and finding humor in any situation. Just knowing him made life better. He will be missed greatly, but we will forever carry his love, his stories and laughter in our hearts.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Friday, 9am-8pm with family present from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 19, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
