Jennie B. Stinson peacefully went to be with the Lord on Oct. 9, 2011, just 2 weeks before her 95th birthday. She was born Oct. 25, 1916 to Charles Edward and Bess L. Killen in Johnstown, PA. Shortly after the start of WWII, she moved to Harrisburg to work at the state capital and there met Jack Stinson, a young Army officer in training at nearby Indiantown Gap, PA. Jack and Jennie were married May 17, 1943. After the war, they settled in Ford City, PA, then moved on to Harrisburg where Jack started his career with B.F. Goodrich. In 1961, they moved to Joplin, MO; 4 years later to Oklahoma City and then to Stillwater, Clinton, and finally back to OKC where Jack retired in 1978. Jennie loved interacting with people and worked from time to time as a receptionist, secretary and medical transcriptionist. Jack passed away in 1997 and, in 2006, Jennie moved to Touchmark at Coffee Creek in Edmond where she made many new friends and touched many lives. She was a long-time member of Putnam City Baptist Church and a devout Christian, always prepared to share her faith with others and provide consolation and words of encouragement. She is survived by her two sons, Jack and David, both of Edmond; 3 grandchildren, Preston and Lindsey of Edmond and John David of Salem, OR; and 5 great- grandchildren. Mercer-Adams Funeral Service of Bethany will conduct a private graveside service for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Hospice of Oklahoma County.
