Obituary

Janice Darlene Chambers, loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, after struggling with various physical difficulties for forty years, went home whole, to be with her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 24, 2010, in Bethany, Oklahoma. She was born Sept. 2, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas, to Mary and Lowell Sisk. Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Clifton, and her father, Lowell. She is survived by her mother, Mary, and will be missed dearly by her precious husband of twenty seven and one half years, Travis A. Chambers, her son, Tony Gower, her younger sisters, Sherry Whitlow and Terry Shreffler, faithful sister-in-law, Ivone Peck, numerous nieces and nephews, and an incredible wealth of friends. After graduating from Putnam City High School in 1959, Janice completed several business courses, then worked in various positions in Oklahoma City, Wichita, and Austin, until her retirement in Bethany in 1998. The family expresses sincere gratitude to the Autumn Bridge Hospice staff and to so many friends and loved ones for all of their support. Services will be 1:00pm, Monday, March 1, at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany.
