Janice K. Brown passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Friday, April 29, 2022 at Willowood at Mustang Senior Living, Mustang, OK. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK on October 27, 1950 to James Loy and Lucille Lottie Jones. She was a graduate of Putnam City High School in 1968. She married James Wilbur Brown in Oklahoma City, OK on December 23, 1978.
Janice had a long and successful career with Southwestern Bell before retiring in 2001. She volunteered for many years as a cook and delivery driver for the Mobile Meals program at Calvin Presbyterian Church where she was a long-time active member. Janice loved crafting and fellowship. Her natural talents were highlighted in her beautifully decorated home and works of art in crochet, cross-stitch, and quilting and experienced through her delicious meals, baked goods and holiday candy.
Left to honor Janice and remember her love are her husband James Brown, her daughters Shelly (Curtis) Scott, & Melissa Mortimer, her brother James (Neta) Jones, her niece & nephew Tracy (Steve) Labahn & Andrew Jones, her grandchildren Isabel & Kaylee Ondiak and Alexis, Aaron & Jory Mortimer, and many loving cousins and long-time friends.
A memorial service will be held on July 22, 2022 at 2:00PM, St. Marks United Methodist Church, 8140 NW 36th Street, Bethany, OK. Final resting place is Woodsbrook Crematory Garden, Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Janice K.
