Janice passed away peacefully in her sleep, September 9, 2016, in Oklahoma City, after a long battle with Parkinsons disease. She was born February 3, 1941 in Rome, GA to Lowell and Gladys Jackson. Her family moved to Michigan where she graduated from Marysville High School.
On February 28, 1961, she married Jerry Bowersox, a Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice. She was a teacher and homemaker. She raised 3 children and 2 grandchildren, and always managed to make a home for her family everywhere the Coast Guard sent them, moving from Hawaii, Key West and Miami.
Janice loved to read, travel in the RV, and her dogs. She was always the one to "Say It Like It Is" no matter what.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Garrie Jackson, sister, Gale Jackson, daughter, Jill Johnson, and granddaughter, Chelsea Johnson.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry; brother, Wayne; son John; daughter Julie; granddaughter, Christina; and grandson, Christopher.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 14, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
