Jana Lea Black, age 66, passed away on November 15, 2024, in Bethany, OK. She was born October 4, 1958 to Jerry Jarnigan and Jackie (Carl) Jarnigan in Oklahoma City, OK. She married Rory Black on September 7, 2008 in Edmond, OK. Jana spent many years working as an administrative assistant in her mother and father's businesses, eventually transitioning into various roles and industries throughout her life, culminating in retirement in 2019.

Jana graduated from Midwest City High School class of 1976 and lived in the OKC metro area throughout her life. Her first passion was being a mom to Chad and one of her favorite activities was watching him play football and baseball. She was an active and invested mom, as well as wife, and took immense pride in both. She embodied kindness and compassion to all and you could always count on her to lend an ear to listen and a hand to hold. Beyond family and friends, her other passion was shopping. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and cooking, especially her famous red beans and rice each New Year's Day.

Jana was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law. She is survived by husband, Rory; son, Chad Nester and fiancé Amy Hall; sisters, Judy Jarnigan, Jeri Rawlins and husband Tony, and Jami Blocker and husband James; brother, Jeff Jarnigan and wife Liz; many nieces and nephews; and dog, Gizmo. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Viewing will be Wednesday, November 20, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with family present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 21, 10:00 am, at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service with interment at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, OK.
