James Edward Jim Wylie, 85, died February 7, 2009. He was born May 24, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri to Ernest and Ruth (Calmer) Wylie. He shared the hobby of Amateur Radio with his father. He was a graduate of Rolla School of Mines and Metallurgy, Rolla, Missouri. A veteran of the US Navy, he retired from SW Bell as an electrical engineer. He worked in the Engineering Department at St. Louis, Missouri, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He attained the rank of Gold Master in duplicate bridge.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; sons Paul, David and Bill and wife Sue; daughters Leslie Zieren, Patty Wood and husband Steve; sister Ruth Getzen and husband Bill; grandchildren Aaron and Sarah Wylie, Craig McCormick, Shelley Zieren, Katie Wood, Drew Wylie, Julianne and Taryn Wylie; great-grandson Che Stiggers; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Services will be Thursday, February 12, 2009, 10:00am at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
