James Roger Ray, 78, passed away March 17, 2011 in his home after a long battle with cancer. Roger was born January 12, 1933 in Arlington, OK to James Rucker Ray and Edna Margaret Buster Ray. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and caring grandfather. He moved to OKC in 1958. He retired from Tinker AFB and enjoyed family, traveling, and tractors. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Delores Munzy, brother Robert Ray, his first wife and mother of his children, Alice Christine Brauer Ray, and his second wife, Claudine Elizabeth Bailey Ray. He is survived by his two children: daughter, Pamela Ray Thompson and husband Paul, and son, James Brian Ray and wife Beverly. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Travis Thompson and wife, Christine Ray Kiespert and husband, Julie Ray Haines and husband, and Timothy Thompson; 2 great-granddaughters, Madelyn and Claire Thompson; sisters Margaret Elaine Doyle, Martha Lee Collins, and Carol Jane Thoma; as well as many friends and family. Special thanks to Full Life Hospice and Hometown Special Care for their care and comfort during his last days. Services will be Saturday, March19, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Prague Cemetery.
