Obituary

James Potter Palmer was born in Hinton, OK, at the Hinton Methodist parsonage to Ralph and Helen Palmer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Halgene; sister, Maxine Atkinson; and brother, Gordon Palmer. He is survived by his sisters, Eileen Walker, and Patricia Smith; children, Ann Wardingley, David Palmer (Angie), Jane Schane (Jim, Sara Hathaway, Tom Palmer (Linda), and Robert Palmer (Debra); six grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Jim worked as a linotype operator and printer for OCU, Vic Shipp, Cowan Printing, and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Jim enjoyed softball both as a player and later as an umpire, bowling, card games, dominoes, golf, singing in the church choir, and playing handbells. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Excell Hospice and Home Health. .
