James "Eric"
Moore
Jul 10, 1973 — Jun 1, 2026
James Eric Moore passed away on June 1st, 2026, at the age of 52. He was born to David and Melvina Moore (Nichols) on July 10th, 1973 in Rota, Spain, where his father was stationed for the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life, Brandie McHenry, on April 4th, 1998.
In 1991, Eric graduated from Woodland High School in Fairfax, OK. On Valentine's Day in 1996, Eric first met his future wife while working at Hastings bookstore, and he would always tell you it was love at first sight. After getting married in 1998, Eric and Brandie welcomed their son, Eli, in 1999 and their daughter, Maggie, in 2002. Eric earned his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Southern Nazarene University, where he also worked as a network administrator for 14 years.
He had a passion for music and was in several bands: Po Boys, Naked Burritos and Audible Silence. He loved to play guitar but could play any instrument you handed him. He even built his own guitars and enjoyed customizing them. He loved to write music; he wrote a song for Brandie that was played at their wedding. He later recorded that same song for his daughter's wedding.
Eric enjoyed farming; he raised over 40 chickens. He liked to talk to them and some were special enough to have names. He also liked to cook and always made dinner for the family on Thursday game nights.
On December 8th, 2022, Eric completed his first confession, first communion, and confirmation, choosing Saint Peter as his patron. He was proud of his Catholic faith and steadfast in his devotion to Christ and to Our Lady.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, David Moore. He is survived by his wife, Brandie Moore; mother, Melvina Moore; children, Eli Moore and Maggie Martin, her husband Brogan Martin; granddaughter, Sylvia Martin; brother, Joel Moore, his wife Kim Moore; sister Nicole Moore. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Christian, Ben, and Leslie Keenan, and Cole, Maddy, and Brody Moore. He will also be missed by his loving in-laws, Danny and Carolyn McHenry, Tanya McHenry, Dana and Bret Smith, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
Funeral Services for Eric will be held at St. Damien of Molokai Catholic Church in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Friday, June 5th at 6:00 p.m., with internment to follow afterward at the adjacent St. Patrick's Cemetery.
