James Jim Miner, born August 4, 1935, to Jim and Bertie Miner, has gone to be in the sweet arms of Jesus and to be made whole again on August 28, 2009. Jim loved his family, flowers, and friends at Coits and PCO. Every morning, he could be found with his Coits family drinking coffee and solving the worlds problems. During softball and football seasons, you would find him at the gate at PCO with a cheerful smile welcoming the fans who became friends. He also loved his Lord. Every Sunday, he was sitting faithfully near the back with his precious wife, Evelyn. Jim had a strong sense of family and enjoyed being with them on every occasion, always looking for an excuse to get together and eat. Jim was retired from a life of owning service stations. His last station was Jims Texaco at 50th and Meridian.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Bertie Miner; two sisters, Dorothy Doyal and Ola Mae Shields. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Evelyn Miner, of the home; 2 daughters, Sheri and husband Phil Bailey of Warr Acres and Shelli and husband Bart Selby of Yukon; 8 grandchildren, Brandi and Mike Aud, Matt and Melia Bailey, Jacob, Zachary, Kyler, and Chris Selby; 9 great grandchildren Evy, Kael, and Tyler Aud, Shanlee Randel, Kody, Ashley, Sam, and Noah Selby, and Maycie Reed; sisters, Lena Bigelow, Jewell Williams, Bea and husband Carol Coleman, and Peggy and husband Virgil Beard; brothers, George and wife Fran Miner and Walter and wife Opal Miner; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. Special thanks to Dr. Worcester and Tye, Dr. Kelly, and Brad, the nurses of 6ICU, and the unbelievable compassion of Dr. Fine.
