James Jay Heidebrecht, 64, died December 18, 2022 in Bethany, Oklahoma. He was born May 19, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Allen Burton Heidebrecht and Martha Lois (Fisher) Heidebrecht. James held a bachelors degree in business from UCO, and a bachelors in architecture from OU. He married Elaine Totten on August 14, 1997 in Oklahoma City. He owned and operated his own business for 20 years, Gazebos Etc., where he designed and built gazebos.
James enjoyed horseback riding, canoeing, OU sports, and OKC Thunder. He attended New Hope Worship Center in Oklahoma City.
James loved to travel with his family to Canada, Michigan, and Colorado. He especially enjoyed gathering with family for celebrations and holidays.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dale Heidebrecht. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Elaine; his sisters, Carolyn Helton and husband Melvin, JoAnn Curry and husband David; father-in-law, Albert Totten; brothers-in-law, Marty Totten and wife Robin, Sam Totten and wife Holly, and Greg Totten and wife Judith; and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Monday, 12-8pm, with family present from 3-5pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Tuesday, December 27, 11:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
