Obituary

James E.W. Haynes, Jr. was born March 5, 1932 to Walden and Polly Haynes in Mercedes, TX and died August 29, 2013. He attended New Mexico Military Academy and graduated from Southern Methodist University. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Captain. Jim and family were transferred to Oklahoma City in 1967. Jim worked as an AMF bowling salesman until 1978 when he became owner of the legendary 66 Bowl. Jim maintained ownership of 66 Bowl until he retired in 2010. He was inducted into Oklahoma Bowlers Hall of fame in 2005. He loved being around his friends and family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Major Carl Seeger, and granddaughter, Angela Stevens. Survivors include his wife Peggy; daughter, Cori Osborn and husband Hugh; sons, Trey Haynes, Mike Haynes and Mena Ganesan; granddaughter, Sarah Stevens; sister, Paula Seeger; nieces, Becky Seeger and Vicky Seeger; nephew, Jim Seeger; and great-nephews. Viewing and visitation will be held 6-9pm, Sunday, September 1 at Mercer-Adams. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 3, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5024 N.
