Our loving daddy and Pepa, James F. Gaines, 81, went to his heavenly home on Dec. 19, 2009. The son of James Robert and Lillian Russell Gaines was raised in Konowa, OK. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Makins Concrete Company. James was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty; his son, Gerrell; his parents; and his siblings, Maggie Matthews, Ophelia Brower, Harold Hamm, Bobby Brinlee, and Betty Foran. He is survived by his children Tawanna and Thomas Thompson, and Jamie and Randy Murray. His life was filled with love by his grandchildren, Kimberly and Paul Radich; Matthew Thompson and fianc, Jeanelle; Stephanie and Jeremy Weeks; Sarah and Vidal Orellana; Stacey Murray; and Nick Murray. His great grandchildren, Anthony Orellana, Makaylah Orellana, and Olivia Weeks were the light of his life. The Jerry Knight family and numerous other family and friends also held a special place in his heart. Family will receive friends at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service from 6-8pm Monday, Dec. 21, 2009. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK.
