James "Jim" Freeman, Jr., 60, passed away August 30th, 2017 at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born June 9, 1957 in Oklahoma City to James Freeman, Sr. and Dolores (Sheets) Freeman. Jim was a 1975 graduate of Claremore High School in Claremore, OK, where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. After high school, he played football at the University of Arkansas and NEO A&M in Miami, OK. He continued his love for the game of football as an avid fan of the University of Oklahoma. Most of Jim's career was in the construction business. Jim's pride and joy were his sons, Barrett and Jeffrey. Jim was known for his huge personality and his sense of humor that filled the room with laughter. He lived a life full of love for his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Jim is survived by sons, Barrett Freeman and Jeffrey Freeman; grandsons, Lane and Bryant; parents, James Freeman, Sr. and Dolores Freeman; sisters, Debi Miller and husband Mike, Sheree Thomas and husband Gordon; brother, Bob Freeman and wife Diana; 3 aunts and 2 uncles; and 4 nieces and 7 nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 3rd, 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM, with family present from 4:00-5:00 PM at Mercer-Adams. Graveside service will be Tuesday, September 5th, 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project Combat Stress Recovery Program at woundedwarriorproject.org.
