James Jim Norwood Boggs died June 30, 2011. He was born October 25, 1925 in Weleetka, OK to Fred and Beatrice (Powers) Boggs. He joined the Navy when he was 18. Soon after, he served in WWII for two years. He came back from war and went to East Central University. It was there that he met the love of his life, Joan (Bonds). They married May 31, 1948 in Allen, OK. He served in the Korean War in 1950. After the war he earned his degree at OU. He worked at Tinker AFB as a systems analyst until he retired. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, his parents and son-in-law, Mark Wemhaner. He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Wemhaner of OKC; son, James F. Boggs and his wife Laura of Conway, AR; grandchildren, Sharmelle Wickman and husband Heath of Keller, TX, Josh Boggs of Lafayette, LA and Michael Goodson of Longview, TX; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Duren and Nathan Wickman of Keller, TX; great-great-grandson, Jaxon Krueger of Lakeworth, TX and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, 9am-9pm. Services will be held 10am, Thursday at Clark United Methodist Church, 5808 NW 23rd Street. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
