James "Jim" Ray Boer, born June 19, 1935 in Harvey, IL to Henry and Gertrude (Ammon) Boer, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Bethany. Jim lived in South Holland, IL until moving to Oklahoma in 1995 when he married Jane Schmitt. Jim served in the army and was stationed in Korea. He was a truck driver for a large commercial / residential concrete company and was a Teamster for 37 years. He enjoyed spending time at his home on Lake Tenkiller. Jim was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church of America and attended Bethany First Church of the Nazarene after moving to OK. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jeannine; and a brother, Peter Boer. He is survived by his wife, Jane; son, Dan Boer and wife Cindy; daughter, Debbi Smits; step-daughter, Beverly Hood and husband Mike; step-son, Richard Schmitt; brother, Henry Boer and wife Sharon; sisters, Alice Kampe, Grace Douma and husband Ed, Doris Norman, and Lois Reidenga and husband Russell; grandchildren, Brandice, Breanna, Brooke, Sophie, Molly, Madison, Cameron, Sydney, Brittany, Bryton and Brixton; and great-granddaughter, Lydia. Services will be Friday, August 31, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lansing, IL.
