James (Jim) Robert Bellah, 70, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma began his dance with Jesus on April 20th, 2018. Jim was born on Friday, November 13th, 1947 in Clinton, Oklahoma. Jim married the love of his young life, Charlotte, on June 26, 1969. They achieved perfection on November 19, 1974 with the birth of their only son, Gregory Dean.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents James and Dortha Bellah, and step-mother Ina Marie Bellah.
He is survived by his Beautiful Bride Charlotte, son Greg and wife Jennifer, their son Kyle, daughter Allyson, and her husband Riley.
He studied at the University of Central Oklahoma earning his degree in Accounting.
Jim enlisted in the United States Army Reserves in August of 1970. He served under the command of Fourth Army, Fifth Engineering Brigade, 44th EVAC Hospital as a Field Telewire Operator until he was honorably discharged in April of 1976.
From a young age, Jim tinkered with everything he could, especially anything having wheels. This vehicular addiction eventually turned from a pastime and hobby, to a lifetime career of reuniting people with their broken dreams. He achieved this by fixing everything from door dings, to hail damage, to fights with telephone poles and many other inanimate objects. He also enjoyed (with the sometimes-cheap labor of Greg) restoring classic and collector cars for clients across the country.
After many years of banging on cars full time, and tinkering with things at Trinity part time, Jim retired from the Body Shop world. He then extended his ministry and began working full time at Trinity as the Building Manager. Jim was not only a fixture around the Church, but an integral part of the daily operations. He lovingly put many hours on and off the clock keeping the very "historic" buildings and systems at Trinity running as smoothly as possible. This allows us to watch what God is doing on the corner of 23rd and Classen and worship Him in the process.
A reflection of Jims generous but humble character is shown in the way he helped anyone he could, and through the many hours mentoring others in the skills of life and life as a Christ follower. He was only able to do this through his own pursuit of God and study of the Word.
A special thank you to the E.R. and I.C.U. staff at St. Anthony Hospital, downtown, for their care and support through this time with Jim.
Visitation will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Family will be present from 6 pm to 8 pm.
