Jama Lynn Ownbey, 60, of Yukon, Oklahoma, died February 19, 2022. She was born September 19, 1961, in Danville, Illinois to James and Mary Eshleman. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, Texas. Jama married Fletcher J. Ownbey on March 24, 1979, at Highland Park United Methodist Church. They lived in Denton, Texas, as well as Ardmore, Oklahoma City and Yukon, Oklahoma.
Jama was trained in the travel industry, but her calling was as a wife, mom, and grandma. She made the home a warm, inviting place for her family and friends whom she loved and served for all of her life. She is described as a kind and loving person who is cherished by all who knew her. She gave her life to Christ as a young person and followed Him faithfully.
She is survived by her husband, Fletcher J. Ownbey; daughter, Mylla Wickwire and husband Ryan, and grandchildren, Bennett, Parker and Emerson; son, Micah Ownbey and wife Andrea; and son, Mitchel Ownbey and wife Randi, and granddaughters, Kaylynn and Kinley. She is also survived by her parents, Jim and Mary Eshleman; brother, Steven Eshleman and wife Jenine; sister, Mylla Harvison and husband Bill; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be Saturday, February 26, 2:00pm at Life Church, 5561 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City.
