Obituary

Jacqulein Vaughn Lowry, 80, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma went Home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2013. She was born December 21, 1932 in Oklahoma City to parents Jack and Alein (Mayse) Vaughn. She attended Northeast High School. She met and married her childhood sweetheart, Jon W. Lowry on August 21, 1953 and together they pastored numerous Baptist churches. They shared their life in marriage for 59 years. Jacqulein devoted all her life as a wife and mother. She was an avid doll collector, loved crocheting and knitting, and shared her talents by making countless baby caps for Mercy Hospital. Jacqulein was an established author of several books. She took great pride as part of the cast of the Holy City of the Wichita's Easter Pagaent for 13 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Jon, of the home; her brother, Jimmy and wife Alison of Colorado Springs; her daughter, Jonna Rhoades of Oklahoma City; son, Jon Paul Lowry and wife Barbara of Oklahoma City; daughter, Jocelyn Patterson and husband Rex of Edmond; adopted son, Jeffrey Ong and wife Doris of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Megan Bartels and husband Bryan, Misha Andrade and husband John, Jon Rand Lowry, Lauren Patterson, and Alex Patterson; adopted grandchildren, Johnson and Vanessa Ong; great-grandchildren, Mara and Paige Bartels and Kelby Andrade. She was preceded in death by her parents. Later in life she became passionate about sharing the story of Christ through the Holy City of the Wichitas, as a cast member, board member, author of a book, The Holy City of the Wichitas (Arcadia Publishing Co.).
