John A. "Jack" Schmiedel, 54, died August 12, 2014. He was born February 21, 1960 in Glen Cove, Long Island to John and Rhetta (McCaffrey) Schmiedel. Jack was a Civil Engineer. He worked for the Department of Transportation designing bridges. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his sister, Sue Locati. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Luann; sons, Sylas and Isaac; father, John; sister, Jo Dziubek; lots of in-laws; and nieces and nephews whose favorite uncle was absolutely Uncle Jack. Jack attended Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, CA, graduating in 1978. He also graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in 1983. Jack came to Oklahoma in 1983 for a job opportunity. He did find a job he loved, but also accidentally found the love of his life, Luann. The 25th anniversary of their first date was June 9th. Jack was beloved by everyone who knew him. He will be sorely missed. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm with family present from 5-6pm at Mercer-Adams.
