Obituary

Jack (John) Elvin Peard was born September 27, 1935 to John Harris and Helen Corrine Jones Peard in Camargo, OK and passed away June 26, 2016 in Oklahoma City, OK. Throughout his childhood, Jack lived and attended school in Oklahoma, California, and Colorado. After graduating from high school, Jack moved to Bethany, OK in 1954 to attend college at Southern Nazarene University. There he met the love of his life, Loyce Ann Phillips, and they married July 5, 1957. God blessed them with a daughter, Tamara Carol, in 1958. After graduating from Central State College with a bachelors degree in Education, Jack moved with Loyce and Tami to California, where Jack worked as a grade school teacher for several years before getting a job with the United States Postal Service. In 1962, Jack transferred to Tinker Air Force Base, where he and Loyce Ann both worked until retirement in 1993. Jack enjoyed painting ceramics, studying the Bible, doing puzzles, and spending time with family. Survivors include wife, Loyce Ann Peard; daughter, Tamara Delozier and her husband Joe; grandson, Joshua DeLozier and his wife Jill; granddaughter, Angela Baustert and her husband Paul; and great-grandchildren, Rylie, Jenna, Emily and Noah, all of whom he was very proud. Other family members include stepmother, Faye Peard and brother, Wade Peard and his wife Gwen, special aunt, Laveta Peard, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jack was a devout Believer, and is undoubtedly enjoying happy reunions with his parents, grandparents, and other loved ones in heaven. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, OK with interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
