Jack T. Johnston was born on November 16, 1932, and departed his earthly life, peacefully at home on August 4, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was one of 7 children born to Charley and Opal Johnston in Macomb, Oklahoma, and was raised in Konawa, Oklahoma. Jack joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served his country faithfully for 20 years. Jack was married to the love of his life, Lora Lee Lowery, for 51 years. She preceded him in death September 25, 2008. Besides Lora, Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charlie Jr., and beloved son Melvin. Jack is survived by his daughter, Jackie Peterson and husband Kurt; son Donald; granddaughter Shannon; the joy of his life, great grandson, Kaden; brothers, Bill, Sonny, and J.D.; and sisters, Shirley Spencer and Lullebelle Schroder. Jack was a faithful servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was an example to all. Viewing will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service on Saturday, August 7, 10am-9pm, and Sunday, August 8, 12pm-9pm. Services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, August 9, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Piedmont with interment following in Bethany Cemetery.
