Jack Houts, 87, passed away on February 28, 2025 in Tyler, TX. He was born September 3, 1937, to Rev. Sylvester "Jack" and Laura June (Platt) Houts in Shattuck, OK. He was raised in a Christian home and had a close relationship with his family. After attending several schools in Oklahoma, Jack graduated from Chickasha H.S. in 1955. He went on to graduate from Southwestern College in Weatherford, OK. Jack married Anita Parmer in 1960 and they had one son, Mark.

Jack enjoyed a successful career as a pharmacist, serving in the Oklahoma City area as well as Dallas and Tyler, TX, retiring in 2018. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, TX.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Houts; and sister, Anna Lee Unruh. He is survived by his wife, Anita; son, Mark Houts (wife Cheyann); granddaughters, Morgan Phillips (husband Brian) and Alyssa Howard (husband Timothy); and great-grandchildren, Parker Phillips and Asher Phillips.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Monday, 10am-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2:00 p.m., at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
