Jack Marvin Heffron, 86, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great- grandfather, passed away peacefully and met his Lord and Savior on December 18, 2023 in Bethany, OK.
Jack was born in Oklahoma City, OK on October 12, 1937. He lived a full life filled with adventure and love. He was a devoted Christian and served the Lord in many ways. He was very passionate about talking to others about the Lord.
Jack graduated Calumet High School in 1956. After high school he served proudly in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in El Paso, TX and Pensacola, FL. There he was an aircraft mechanic and worked on the B52 Bomber. Returning to Oklahoma after his service in the military, he met Connie White Heffron in El Reno, OK and they were married in 1960.
Jack worked as an aircraft mechanic for Aero Commander. On the side, he was the bass player for a 60's rock & roll band called The Thunderbirds. They recorded an album in Memphis and he continued to play bass in the church band. In 1973 he started working as a Machinist Foreman at the Federal Penitentiary .in El Reno. It was there that he led dozens of men to the Lord. He was a master craftsman, making fishing lures, knives, black powder rifles, wallets, music instruments, bike cars, pirate ships and many other things. There was nothing he couldn't do and he would tell you that, too.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth M. Heffron; his mother, Ola Chenoweth Heffron-Harris; and his brother, Jimmy Dale Harris.
Jack is survived by his wife, Connie; his son, Jay Heffron & wife, Jennifer; his son, Kenneth Heffron & wife, Tamara; his son, Mark Heffron & wife Stacy; his daughter, Jackie Heffron; and bonus son, Kevin Knutson and wife, Donette. He is also survived by his sisters, Myrna Bartley and Bobbie Beville. He was a proud grandpa of six grandchildren: Jayson, Julie, Jamie, Kalen, Noah and Jackson; ten great-grandchildren, Peyton, Cooper, Amity, Daxton, Lyric, Haleigh, Jeri, Xander, Avery, and Sebastian; and one great-great-granddaughter, Willow.
Please join us for a celebration service at Mercer Adams Funeral Service Chapel in Bethany, OK on Thursday, December 28 at 10:00am.
