Jack Bingham Ford was born on February 26, 1924 in Dallas, TX and returned to his Creator on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the age of 94. He was a graduate of Putnam City High School, Class of 1941. Jack joined the Army Air Corps and served as Staff Sergeant during World War II. After he obtained an honorable discharge he served as Captain in the Air Force Reserve until 1966. After serving his country, Jack went to Oklahoma City University where he earned a degree in business with a minor in accounting, was elected president of his class, and honored by the Rotary Club for "Outstanding Leadership."
Just as Jack believed in serving his country, he wanted to serve his community, too. He was active in the Kiwanis Club for 25 years and for a time, served as president of his division (Warr Acres). He was a Shriner, was on the board of the Western Sportsman Club, belonged to Bass Masters, was named Honorary Chief of the Chickasaw Tribe, and was a faithful member of Putnam City Baptist Church before his health failed him. Jack loved to fish and he loved computers. He was never afraid of learning new things as he got older. He especially enjoyed exposing his grandchildren to computers at a very early age and was always buying computer programs for them to make sure they had a firm knowledge of technology. He could often be found going all over the world on his flight simulator or photoshopping. You never knew when you were going to get a picture of yourself being chased by a dinosaur or singing a duet with Elvis. When he was active in Kiwanis, he could be found ringing the bell for the Salvation Army every Christmas. For 50 years, Jack was an insurance agent (Jack Ford Insurance) in Bethany. Due to illness, he had to step down at the age of 83.
Jack left this world understanding that of all his good works, only the good work of Christs sacrifice on the cross could grant him eternal rest.
Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Louise Ford (nee McAtee) of Bethany; daughter, Cindi Warner (Eric) of Norman; son, Larry Ford (Pam) of Edmond; his daughter, Debra Gibbons (Gary) of Yukon; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oliver and Hallie Mae Ford; sister, Virginia Armstrong; brother, Don Ford; and grandson, Michael James Ford.
