Obituary

JW Lundy passed away peacefully December 29, 2015. He was born on February 11, 1933 to Lela Fay (Schwartz) Lundy and Arley Earl Lundy. He grew up in Oklahoma City. JW married Janet Cecile Parish in 1963. JW retired many years ago from the City of Oklahoma City where he worked for more than 20 years. He also worked for Stans plumbing and mowed lawns to keep himself busy. He loved to share his knowledge and skills with others, whether it was working on a car or fixing a busted pipe. JW or Dub as his family knew him, loved to joke and have a good laugh. He always got a kick out of a funny birthday card and he liked to tease those that he loved. It was his way of showing you how much he loved you. He was a long time member of Bethany First Nazarene Church and loved to make coffee for his Sunday morning group. He also belonged to the Late Great Chevy car club where he showed his 1966 Chevrolet Caprice in parades and took it to many car shows. He loved Airedale dogs, working on cars, piddling in his garage and whistling. He enjoyed attending the car races in OKC until the track was torn down. He is survived by his wife, Janet Lundy of OKC; sister, Etolia Rhodes of Edmond; brother, JC Lundy of Yukon; brother and sisters-in-law, Dan Parish of Chickasha, Mary Ella Evans of Tuttle, RuthAnn Parish of Mustang and Alonah Smith of Anadarko; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Monday, January 4, 1:00pm at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with interment in Schwartz Cemetery, OKC. Funeral Service Monday, January 4, 2016 01:00 PM Bethany First Church of the Nazarene 6789 N.W. 39th Expressway Bethany, OK 73008
