Ida "Lou" Melot, 98, passed away May 1, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born April 28, 1926 in Lone Wolf, OK to Leo and Ada (Cline) Koebelen. She married Mike Melot in 1951 and they enjoyed many years together until his death in 2004.

Lou served as a bookkeeper for the family business, Melot's Sportsman's Club, for 40 years. She especially loved fishing for crappie and was out fishing any chance she got. When she wasn't fishing, she also enjoyed painting and gardening. Lou also cooked the best crappie nuggets and fried okra around!

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike; son, Kim Melot; brothers, Emil Koebelen, Leo Koebelen and Lloyd Koebelen; and great-great-grandson, Oliver Lurry.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Roth; son, Max Melot and wife Georgie; 3 grandchildren, Jacqui (John) Bertrem, Matthew (Roxanne) Melot and Mitchell Melot and fiancée Kim; 8 great-grandchildren, Kassi, Kolton, Jordyn, Maddox, Maya, Mason, Maverick and Marisa; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Oakley and Jaxtyn.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Monday, May 6 from 12-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 7 at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in Spring Creek Cemetery.
