Hung "Doan" Dinh Tran was born on January 18, 1952, in Bui Chu, VN. A devout Catholic and family man, Doan is survived by his wife of 47 years, My Thi Dinh; eldest son, Bao and wife Quynh and their 2 kids, Konin and Tatum; son, Khai "Bi"; daughter, Elizabeth and her husband Minh and their 2 kids, Jacob and Caleb; and youngest son, Tuan "Bobby". Hung, My, and their 2 oldest boys escaped from Vietnam in 1979 in hopes of providing a better life for their growing family. After reuniting with their parents and 5 other siblings in America, they all shared the same space in a small 2-bedroom house. Hung worked at IEC while opening a tailor shop with his wife out of their garage to provide for their 4 children. With hard work and perseverance, they accomplished their American dream in 1995 by opening ABC Cleaners on the corner of NW 36th and MacArthur. Hung loved gardening and repairing odd and end things around the house. He was an avid reader and storyteller. He enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with his late parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews, but most of all, in his home life with his own family and grandchildren.
