Hubert R. Harris, 91, passed away November 19, 2011 in Oklahoma City. He was born October 14, 1920 in Clever, Missouri to Newton and Lura (Chapman) Harris. He was a long time Bethany resident, retiring from the Bethany Police Department as a Captain in 1974. He also was employed at Southern Nazarene University. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Pacific and European Theatre during WWII. He married Mildred Albright in 1944, to that union two children were born. His wife Mildred preceded him in death. Survivors include a son Michael Harris and his wife Kyong; a daughter Lynne Sherwood and husband Ralph; a sister Becky Chafey; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm Monday, November 21, 2011 at Mercer-Adams, with the family present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Calvary Church of the Nazarene, burial will follow at the Bethany Cemetery.
